The European Union in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, through the project “European support to inclusive society”, has awarded 28 grants to 36 cities and municipalities in Serbia. The value of the grants allocated is EUR 4,331,275.56 million for projects that will strengthen social inclusion of vulnerable groups, but also to increase the volume and quality of community based social services for vulnerable groups in difficult situation, including Roma.

The grant beneficiaries are representatives of national and provincial social welfare institutions, social welfare centers, Serbian municipalities and cities, citizens’ associations and foundations, institutions in the area of education and public companies.

The projects are divided into 2 lots:

  1. LOT 1 – Community-based social services for vulnerable groups – 5 cluster projects and 13 social care (Total value of EU contribution of 2.874.848,29 EUR)
  2. LOT 2 – Active inclusion initiatives for the Roma population – 10 projects (Total value of EU contribution of 1.456.427,27 EUR)

The Project Management Unit will provide technical support to the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs in the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of relevant measures of social policy, as well as in providing support to the community based social service providers in the formulation and implementation of appropriate and adequate operational solutions for practical implementation of policy and strategic indications formulated at the national level. Furthermore, the PMU will provide technical assistance to the grant beneficiaries related to project management, presentation of results achieved, and reports on the implementation of the project.

The Grant Scheme management is the responsibility of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia.
