Opening conference of the social incluson project “I have a dream…” is being held on Thursday, 7th April 2016, at the “Kultura” Cultural Center in Bajina Basta.
Municipality of Bajina Basta have started implementing project “I have a dream…” in partnership with Center for Social Work from Bajina Basta. This activity is part of the project “European Union Support to Inclusive Society”, financed by the EU with EUR 5.4 million, and implemented by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
With the aim to support social inclusion of vulnerable groups in the territory of Bajina Basta, in the next 20 months we will be going toward improving access to public facilities for the disabled persons and enhancing socialization and education of vulnerable groups in territory of Bajina Basta through the creation of social services. The plan is to build a daycare center for persons with disabilities, sensitize professional personnel and conduct trainings for gaining new skills and knowledge for successful work with disabled, as well as to enable professionals to identify the needs of people with disabilities.
The Project will help in raising citizens` awareness about the importance of good social care for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in Bajina Basta.
The project team members would like invite all citizens interested in this action to join and actively participate in project activities.
The “European Union Support to Inclusive Society”, a project funded by the European Union with EUR 5.4 million, aims to ensure greater social inclusion of vulnerable groups in Serbia such as elderly, children, minorities including Roma and others. Through the project the EU has granted EUR 4.3 million as 28 grants, which will be implemented in 36 cities and municipalities in Serbia by the end of 2017. The projects implemented by the national and provincial social welfare institutions, municipalities and cities, social welfare centers, citizens associations, foundations, educational institutions and public companies will increase the scope and quality of services at the local level in social and health care, housing, education and employment, and thereby strengthen the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
The project is implemented by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
